Dear Creative,
learn to say no:
- more often,
- to the things you don’t want to do,
- and even sometimes to the things you want to do but that are not a priority.
‘I should’
The answer to my question was ‘yes’, she wanted to do things differently this year, she was planning to get back to a ‘proper job’ because ‘she should’ because ‘she studied it and also it’d be more money’.
Conversations and hidden Resistance
I was talking to one of my colleagues the other day and since it’s the beginning of the year, I asked her if she wanted to do things differently work-wise this year or if she wanted to keep doing what she was already doing.
Why Freediving?!
During a session in Greece a few weeks ago, a fellow freediver said: ‘freediving is my absolute favourite thing!!!’ In the most cheerful tone.
It got me thinking as I reluctantly slid into the water. Well actually I didn’t have to think much, I knew freediving was definitely NOT my favourite thing
Create space for your thoughts, emotions & ideas
Dear Creative,
exactly a week ago, I made my way back from Greece where I spent the most amazing week free diving and giving yoga classes & hypnotherapy sessions to an amazing group of entrepreneurs
The creative process
In the last couple of months, I got a huge forward push in my creative process which at first made me question one of the key concept in Steven Pressfield’s book the War of Art : ‘RESISTANCE’
Amorgos
Amorgos is a Greek island in the Cyclades. It’s also where the famous French movie ‘Le Grand Bleu’ got shot. A movie about Freediving. Which is exactly why I went there as well: try Freediving.
My Freediving experience
Last winter, I got this weird idea to try Freediving.
I think it was the combination of seeing my Godmother swim with Whales in Tahiti and watching the movie Avatar 2. It was like a light bulb went off!
Visiting Saint-Malo Part 2
When we left St-Malo last Summer, I didn’t think I’d be back less than a year later! Life is full of beautiful surprises!
My fav Cafés in Basel
I went to a new Café yesterday. Many are blossoming across town these days, which is great because I looooove discovering new places where I can write, edit a podcast or meet a friend while sipping a delish cappuccino and eating a Laugengipfeli!
Empowerment & Minimalism
Oh! A free online course ! Let me sign up, never watch it and receive their daily marketing emails instead!
I just unsubscribed from a dozen different newsletters that I usually simply delete, only to receive the same one again the next day.
A heart opening weekend
In the self-development / spiritual world, we often ‘work’ on opening our hearts in meditations or with whatever kind of exercises.
This weekend though I didn’t have to sit on a meditation cushion for hours
Voicing our NOs
It is soooo hard to say NO to the people we love the most and people in general ! Isn’t it ?
You know when your best friend organizes a party that sounds really good on paper but you know that you are going to hate it?! Do you tell her or you go anyway?
Throw out the vision board
“Whaaat?! But I love my vision board!”
I know me too but after the digital detox month, I will do the vision board detox month because I’m curious to see what will happen when I don’t have a strict idea of how my life should look like and focus on how I’d like to feel instead.
How to notice when Resistance sneaks into your creative projects and how to deal with it
For me it appears in, of course, everything but ESPECIALLY in my writing and any self-expression endeavor (podcasts, videos, stand-up…) I choose to pursue.
Visiting Jersey
After St-Malo, we headed to Jersey - one of the Channel Islands, part of the UK - and stayed for 2 weeks. There, people speak English but every street name is French
Visiting Saint-Malo Part 1
Also called La Cité Corsaire - because of all the Piracy going on back in the days that was commanded by the King! -, Saint-Malo is not only very rich in History but also in delicious food, amazing old buildings, forts and of course beautiful beaches.
Knowing your resources & using them
One of the things we learn during the Cranio-Sacral Therapy training, is to know one’s resources. Our own and the ones of the client.
We often think of resources in terms of money or skills. But a resource can also be something that will help you feel good or bring you back to yourself, bring you back to your center.
Slow traveling
It’s:
taking your time to get to your destination
choosing the more eco-friendly mean of transportation
taking your time once you are there to explore and relax
MAKING TIME TO HAVE TIME because time is one of the most valuable thing we have!
Trusting more thanks to journaling
Do you journal?
If yes, do you regularly read what you wrote?
