Knowing your resources & using them

One of the things we learn during the Cranio-Sacral Therapy training, is to know one’s resources. Our own and the ones of the client.

We often think of resources in terms of money or skills. But a resource can also be something that will help you feel good or bring you back to yourself, bring you back to your center.

Do you know what brings you back to your center?

I’ll share a few of my resources:

  • reading a good fiction book on my couch

  • walking through the forest

  • meditating (vipassana style)

  • a calm environment

  • asking my highest-self (a few times) to bring me back to my center.

  • connecting to the sky with my crown chakra and to the earth with my roots

  • releasing the energies that are not in my highest good/ are not mine

  • taking time to take the way that takes longer but makes me feel better:

last weekend, I was taking one of the Cranio-Sacral Therapy modules of my training. This time, the hotel was walking distance from the school, which I was already benefiting from (> not having the stress to catch a bus early morning).

From the hotel to the school, there were 3 paths. The one on the main road, which was the one with the most traffic and heat (during the heat wave, the concrete made it even warmer), but the shortest way to school the most convenient when I was in a hurry (jk this doesn’t happen during cranio weekend :P).

There also was a parallel street to the main road. Very quiet, with cute, typical & charming houses that had luscious gardens full of apple trees & flowers. This path took a bit longer than the other one but made me arrive to school pretty joyous, inspired by the architecture and relaxed.

And then there was a third path: the one going through the forest and along the lake. Seeing water and connecting to Nature was such an amazing way to start the day! Once again, I arrived to school feeling pretty centered and happy.

I kept taking that path the rest of the weekend because the few added minutes were so worth it for my own well-being and also the well-being of others because my good vibe created a ripple-effect on theirs (especially the ones choosing the early morning public transportation option!).

It doesn’t take so much effort to feel aligned but the first step is to know what we need and then take the time to do it!

What do you need to feel good in your body-mind-soul in general?

Can you take the longer way, more peaceful way to work-school-home today?
