Create space for your thoughts, emotions & ideas

Dear Creative,

exactly a week ago, I made my way back from Greece where I spent the most amazing week free diving and giving yoga classes & hypnotherapy sessions to an amazing group of entrepreneurs who came from all over the world to gather on the beautiful island of Amorgos for a week.

This year I decided to fly back from Santorini because I wanted to see the former Atlantis! And all the influencers with their long dresses floating in the wind ;)

As we boarded the plane, I sat down on my usual aisle seat and waited for my flight neighbours. As they arrived, they told me that I had the window seat. I was confused because I usually have the aisle seat - because 4 years of back pain will make you want to stand up often on long train rides and flights - but after checking my boarding pass, I noticed that I had indeed booked the window seat so I made my way, slightly reluctantly, over there.

I started getting all my ‘entertainment’ out: the book ‘Deep’ that a fellow free diver had landed me the day before, one downloaded podcast episode with Amy McNee about working on creative projects with her husband and one dowloaded funk music playlist that I had listened to every day during the retreat.

As we start our ascend, the lady next to me, starts watching her reality-TV show on her IPAD, while I start staring out the window. Very quickly I’m in complete awe in front of the beautiful scenery: the Clouds, the Cyclades and the deep blue of the Mediterranean Sea and that’s all I end up doing on that short flight to Athens: stare out the window, feel all the current emotions and process those of the past 2 weeks. The predominant one being gratitude <3 I know it’s such a mainstream word these days but my heart was so full of joy and love after having spent 2 weeks on gorgeous Greek Islands, watching the most amazing sunsets, eating delicious food, being immersed in this beautiful water, acquiring new skills, surrendering & trusting more, spending time with amazing people, holding space for them, sharing my most recent initiations & realisations, laughing & connecting with them, what a true gift that was! In fact when I was still there, I couldn’t get any writing done because the only words I could think of were : ‘it’s just wow!’ and those were not enough for any kind of blogpost!

It was the best flight I ever had and it made me realise once again:

  • the best show is Nature

  • we shall reduce the distractions/entertainment and spend more time feeling and processing our emotions & experiences. And if this is a tricky one, let’s start practicing with the high/nice ones!

  • I’m only booking window seats from now on!

So my mission for you if you accept it, is to stare out the window whenever you are taking the tram, bus, train or plane this week. In fact wherever you are, practice daydreaming without listening to anything - not even my Podcast :P - without watching anything, without scrolling, without texting and for those of us more old school: without reading! This way you are creating space for your own thoughts, emotions and potential ideas. As a creative, any moment, any situation, any emotion, any conversation, any experience, any ride, ANYTHING can become a source of inspiration and be alchemized into a creative project!

Let me know how it goes and what came up for you <3
